The ‘World’s Greatest Conman’ has warned about the dangers of identity theft and children using Facebook. Frank Abagnale, a famous teenage trickster, who now works in security for US law enforcement agencies, addressed the problem yesterday in London saying “I have no problem with it” but emphasised that “You have to teach children, it is an obligation of society to teach them how to use it carefully”. According to Abagnale, knowing a name and date of birth of somebody on Facebook puts you 98% of the way to hacking their account. He also gave advice to use group photos as profile pictures rather than passport style images. The 64 year old finished by stating that the rise in technology has predictably made it harder to protect yourself from this type of theft.
